Mega Drive game resets at exact same spot every time

Anyone ever had this problem? In Streets of Rage 3, the game suddenly resets at the night club boss, those two chicks. I'm playing it on a modded America Nomad and it's the Japanese version, so I figure that could be the problem, but none of my other games seem to be having any problems.

Anyone ever had this and/or know what it could be if it's not the Nomad?

It could be a corrupt location in the cart memory and when the system gos to grab a graphic chunk for a certain item, it crashes and resets. Have you tried the cart on another system to see if it dies at the same point?
