Is there actually a good reason for getting a 3D0?

Post by Zork »

An honest question and answer honestly.

I've thought about the prospect of having a 3D0 on again and off again but everytime I look at the software library it doesn't seem like there is a good enough reason to buy one no matter how low the cost is. So please fire away with your good reasons and explinations if there are any to be had.

I ask this because this is one of the few pieces of video game hardware that I can't come up with anything good to say about.

There are some decent ports of a few games like some fighters and FMV games if you're into them, but nothing in terms of games that makes it a must-own.
I might pick one up someday just for nostalgia and collectability.

I think Star Control II is a must own

just had some discussion about it at
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1846

honestly if it doesnt sound good, then maybe its just not your thing.
I personally have very little interest in the Turbographx 16 console, even tho it has many strong defenders, I never knew anyone that owned one when I was a kid, and I have never even once seen one of those HuCard games... used or new.

I guess my point is, collect what you enjoy =)

I agree with this and I think I'll step away from the 3D0 and forget about it. I'd like to consider myself more of a practical collecter. But I've also gone over the PC Engine and Turbo Duo all that, and after hearing about durability issues and cheap parts I'd rather avoid it. Plus the game I want for it goes over $100...Rondo of Blood :(

There aren't any protection issues nor region protection on the CD systems on the PC Engine/TurboGrafx CD. Just make sure you have the super cd card. Or a flash cart. Either will work...and the flash carts on the on the turbographx are great.

Metaleggaman,
Are you telling me you have a PC Engine/TG16 collection, yet in another thread I saw that you said you weren't old enough to have a summer job? If so that is just awesome!

@metaleggman

If that is the case I believe I will reconsider my position on the Turbo :D

It's funny I couldn't really find info like that on it, thanks a bunch.
