Need some help...Hard times

Post by DNT 2.5 »

My grandmother is sick. She is living with us while she is getting better, on top of this, my 17 Year old cousin is living withus, and she and my grandmother do not "get along" In fact, they seem to hate each other, they are constantly scrapping with each other.
I however am caught in the middle, and in a bad spot because, as hard as it is to say, my grandmother always favored me over her, and I have a feeling they still
hold that against me and her . That doubles their Dislike for each other. Everyone is telling me how tough their life is, and I am the one who is the only one they talk to,
This is getting insane, I am the one that is trying to give EVERYONE in my family advice on the situation, and I am the one who isn't getting any advice at all. I know what I have to do.That is just Suck it up, and keep my head down, witch is what I am doing, and I plan on doing.
Sorry for the Blogging, I just needed somewhere to get it out.

It's a labor of love, family is. Don't be afraid to get away it you need to; video games seem to do the trick for me more often than not . I grew up with a manic depressive mother and two younger siblings, it could be very stressful at times. You just can't sacrifice yourself all the time- try to find a loving way to communicate that to your fam.

If the 17 year old is giving the sick grandma a hard time then she is most definitely in the wrong. I'm assuming it's not an option, but I say give the 17 year old back to her legal guardians. At least until Grandma gets better. Regardless of how crabby a grandma is, they never deserve to be disrespected, especially by some 17 year old idiot.

Family problems aren't fun; hope your grandma get's well soon.

By the way you are probably the favorite because your the type of person who would take in a cousin (who sounds like a prick imo), take in a sick grandma, and then stand in the middle of their retarded fights and put up with it.

Oh, we have that in real life. It's called suicide, and is in fact frowned upon in most cultures.

Is there any way to keep the two warring factions separated? Like have the girl stay at a friend's or other family member's house a few odd days of the week? Possibly keep grandma in one room with a TV, dinners, etc? Not sure if you could sit them down for a talk and straighten them both out?

Well, you're sure handling your family problems way better than I am.
Me and my little sister fight a lot, and one day, I just got sick of all her disrespect, so I did all I could do to avoid any unnecessary violence, I cast her out of my life.

We may still live in the same house, but I think nothing of her, I don't say a word to her, and I don't even look in her way. It's that easy.

Always good to vent.

I'm actually a little jealous of you. I'd love to have the opportunity to have more family live with me, especially my Grandmother. Then again, I like Fester's Quest.

I think Luke needs to play a little more of a certain Batman game...
