D-d-d-danger, watch behind you...

Post by jfe2 »

... there's a stranger out to find you! What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, whoo-oo!

So I got my FC Mobile II portable NES in the mail this week and have been bringing it to work to play on the little bit of downtime that I get. I brought Ducktales with me today, seeing as I never have beat the game before.

First off, let me just say that this game can be hard! There are certain areas that will just kick your ass over and over again. On my play through today I only made it to the Himalayas level. At one point I had a stockpile of four lives, but there were a few jumps that I missed, and a couple of those damn spiders that hit me one too many times, and before I knew it I had a game over.

I plan on trying to play through to the end soon, especially since it seems like its possible to beat within an hour if you know what you are doing. After I beat it though, I want to try to get a hold of Ducktales 2 for the NES. I've never played it, but I know it's considered to be quite rare. Has anyone here tried it out before? Is it as good as the first game?

Oh, this wouldn't be a Ducktales topic without the obligatory link to the best song ever.

I have both Duck Tails 1 and 2 on the Famicom. They play very much the same, although I haven't really given a lot of time to either so I can't compare them fairly. Both are fun, though!

I have Duck Tales First Collection on DVD. Fucking love that show. The theme tune is awesome, only surpassed by the excellent M.A.S.K.

I also have Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers. Mmmmm Gadget
Is it wrong to have fancied the arse off her when I was a young boy?

I always liked Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers when I was a kid too. In fact, the NES game is one of the first games I ever played. My neighbor had it for her NES when we were kids and I played it a few times there. Pretty decent platformer IIRC.
