So what do you think of Pepsi/Moutain Dew throwback?

So what do you think of Pepsi/Moutain Dew throwback?

Post by BoringSupreez »

Pepsi decided to do a throwback soda again, meaning it had real sugar in it instead of corn syrup. They decided to include Mountain Dew this time. They are using the Pesi logo they had in the 80's, and the Mountain Dew logo is the really old one with the hillbilly on it, that says "Ya-hoo, Mountain Dew!" on the can. I think it tastes pretty good, but some people I know think the Mountain Dew tastes like 7-Up, and the Pepsi tastes like Coke.
I think that Pepsi should make this soda a permenant soda, since they did this once already a year or two ago, instead of making this like the McRib. Anyway, what do you guys think of this stuff?

The Mountain Dew was pretty good and number 2 is pepsi. I hope there will be more throwback soft drinks.

You should never drink a soda after you eat something sweet, because the sweetness overwhelms the soda. I've learned that the hard way, after wasting a few glasses of soda that I couldn't taste much.

I had a Mexican Coke a few days ago (Mexican Coke is made with sugar) and that convinced me that Coke should do a throwback. Pepsi and Mountain Dew with sugar taste somewhat better, but Coke with sugar is worlds better. I would love it if they would do one. And Dr. Pepper should do a throwback where they used sugar, and prune juice.

As someone who drinks far more Mountain Dew than is probably healthy, I hate the throwback version. I tried it when it came out a while back, and it tasted bizarre. It tasted almost grainy, as though the sugar wasn't fully dissolved in the soda, and it tasted way too sweet.

I'd say it's worth a try though, it's definitely a unique flavor.

I am not so keen on the throwback pepsi, but I love the throwback mountain dew better than the other one.

Loving the throwback Mt. Dew. It just has a much more pronounced mouthfeel. I really feel that sodas with sugar feel much more wholesome and worthwhile. I really love Mountain Dew, but I always thought it had a nasty bite to it, which the real sugar seems to even out.

I've come to the conclusion that I prefer high frutcose corn syrup. It's got a much stronger, lingering, type of sweetness than sugar.
