I stumbled across this video today while checking out the 1UP Retro Gaming Blog.
It's a gameplay video of a game called Mr. Gimmick for the NES, and I have to say that it really blew me away! The game looks amazing for any platformer, let alone an NES one. It really seems to push the limits of what the NES could do. I looked into importing it, but apparently its quite the collectors item. The only copy I could find is a buy it now item on eBay for $1,000.
I think at this point I'm going to look into a repro cart or something. I need to play this game! It looks like Kirby on crack... and I LOVE Kirby.

I don't care for platformers, but that does look awesome.

Yeah, it looks fun for sure. I've watched his whole playthrough now and his annotations are actually really interesting. I usually hate when people use them on Youtube, but he knows where to put them to avoid distracting from the video, and the information provided is worth reading.
I can't find a translated repro cart anywhere, and it is way out of my price range.

That's the only cart I can find, and apparently the PAL version had a VERY limited release in Scandinavia. The Famicom version is supposed to be less rare, but I can't find it anywhere. Also, it apparently uses unique chips for sound and graphics, so I think it would be pretty difficult to develop a repro cart.

Wow, this game looks impressive! If it weren't for the distinct "softness" of the NES' color palette, I'd say this looks at least as good as a Turbografx game!
