It will depend on which model as that would determine moddability as well as which version of the controllers it has. But the Saturn is a great system, you should at least go read up on games for it before deciding if you want to offload it.

Clarification: NiGHTS is a classic masterpiece no Saturn owner should be without. Panzer Dragoon is a quaint, outdated shooter with mildly awkward controls that's more interesting for its exotic art direction than its gameplay.

Personally I love the Sega Saturn. I have more than a dozen games for it, a few of which are high dollar hits. Shining Force III is one of the most amazing RPG's ever. I spent many, many hours with Dragon Force. NiGHTS is something I'll never part with. Die Hard Arcade is a blast. Vampire Savior is wacky and fun, like Street Fighter on Halloween. Metal Slug is explosive and spectacular. Not to mention Virtua Cop II, House of the Dead, or Sega Rally Championship, which are all arcade-like delights.

On the other hand, some of the good games cost a lot, and modding/burning games is problematic. Personally I'd advise you to watch gameplay clips of the good games and see whether or not you're enticed. It might not be worth it to you personally... for instance, I don't really enjoy my SNES, which is why I'm trading it to someone else here on this forum. So, do what makes you happy.

Clarification: Nights is a boring game where you bounce around doing pretty much nothing in a environment where you can barely see where you're going. :P

I still think Panzer Dragoon is fun. Yeah its kind of ugly now, but hey, different strokes. :)

I haven't tried to play through NiGHTS yet, but I had a hard time controlling it. Granted, that WAS before I had my 3D controller.

Panzer Dragoon is great IMO! Say what you will about the graphics, but the atmosphere and the gameplay more than make up for them.

Keep for a little while it if you can find some of the games above posters suggested. If you decide it's not your thing, sell it. I doubt the value of the system will change from what it is now unless SEGA somehow pulls a miracle out of it's rear end and releases its top Saturn hits on XBOX live and PSN.
