so i got valve a thank you gift.

Post by nickfil »

my buddy mike got me the 'in' with valve and the job panned out so i wanted to thank him seeing as it is kind of a dream job.

I picked up a machete and got it engraved with the "mannco" logo and some of his saxton hale artwork.

This probably won't make sense to you unless you love team fortress 2.

ANYWAY- he posted some pictures. The engraving is kind of hard to read, but in person it looks fantastic. Really happy with the way it turned out and he loved it! :)

That's really sweet, it'd be a awesome present for anyone. So what sort of work are you going to be doing at Valve, concept stuff and story boarding (random guess from glancing at your blog)?

I can't really say what I'm doing yet. It is kinda hush hush. However, as far as common knoldge goes...

I do work in comics and valve did put this out http://www.teamfortress.com/war/administrator/

I start valve work tomorrow actually. Super excited.

Refresh my memory, you didn't move out to Bellevue to work for Valve, correct? You're working remotely?

If I'm wrong, then we need to have a mini Racket get together of all the Seattlites.

I haven't moved out, but i would in a heartbeat. It is beautiful out there. I think valve is still testing the waters with comics. Trying to decide if it is something they want to stick with or not.

If the department expands and i don't make any huge mistakes while I'm doing contract work for them I assume I'll have an in at least to get set up with an interview for full hire. A lot of ifs, but it would be great to work for them full time.
