I never knew that these actually existed! I'd heard that the original launch PS2's in Japan featured a PCMIA slot but I never knew that they had actually released an official external HDD for it!
I WANT THIS.

Oh come on.
It's not like you'll fill a 40gb PS2 HDD the legit way.
Anyhow I did some research on it and went to this site:
http://oldengineer.com/gallery/main.php
And I've found that this is actually the HDD from a PS2 DEV-Kit! I don't know who the guy that owns the site is but he is a very lucky guy.

QFT. I never understood what the logic was behind Sony's PS2 Hard Drives. $100 for an 80GB HD. Yes please!Anayo wrote:$100 for a 40 GB hard drive? Ew.

Wow, the dude has some amazing rare stuff. I would give my firstborn for half of that. O.o
That HDD looks pretty legit, I was looking it up since I noticede the Model number starts with DTL instead of SCPH, which is what most PlayStation products' model numbers start with, turns out DTL-10000 is actually the TOOL Dev kit. So that makes sense.

It's cool but what possible use does it have? Can you save to it like a giant memory card?
Re: I WANT THIS.
If it's like the internal PS2 hard drive, you'll have to save to the memory card, then transfer the data to the Hard Drive.Inazuma wrote:It's cool but what possible use does it have? Can you save to it like a giant memory card?

Re: I WANT THIS.
Hold on, guys. Why is there so much enthusiasm for this? Is it some collector obsession thing? Nowadays $100 will get you a 1 terabyte hard drive, and PS2 memory cards are cheap. Is there some PS2 game out there I don't know about that takes up oodles of storage space for save files?

2. You can actually install few legit games to the HDD and it makes a to of difference.
