should I buy a 32x system
should I buy a 32x system
I'm wondering if its worth my money to get a 32x and just the arcade ports from that system like wrestlemania, after burner, mk2, primal rage, nba jam etc. Since I can only find them on ebay its going to cost me about 100.00 to get what I want and since I Have alot of these titles already on the genesis and snes I wonder if its worth it? I'm not a collector but I'm trying to get back what I once had as a teen and its already costing me an arm and a leg. I'm thinking I should use the money to get gamecube games like the zelda collection or resident evil series what do you guys think? Thank you for the feedback

Well, since you already have the other versions it may not be worth it; however, you probably will not be happy until you have all of your old stuff back. I never got rid of my old systems, but if I did I know I would have to get everything back eventually!
Good Luck.

kgcarini, if you're in the US (and definitely if you're in MA) then contact this dude at the link below. He is a highly reputable seller and ships super fast. His shipping costs are low as well. I bought Chaotix, Sewer Shark and a Dreamcast demo disc for $25 plus $5 shipping and it literally arrived 2 days later.
His 32X units are only $25 and include the highly sought after conversion cable and power cable

Personally, I don't think the 32X is a smart way to use your money. Most of the few good 32X games were also released on either Genesis or Saturn. There are Very few good exclusives. Knuckles Chaotix is a one good exclusive once you get used to the controls. Most of the Other top games have better ports available. After Burner, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing, Wrestlemania, Mortal Kombat II, and Shadow Squadron are all better on Saturn. Blackthorne is better on DOS. NBA Jam is nearly identical on Sega CD and Genesis. Primal Rage is better on PC-CDROM, but there is no truly good port of PR. If you're not a collector, use your money to buy some games for systems you already have.

I prefer the 32X versions of Virtua Fighting and Virtua Racing over the Saturn versions. The graphics are not as detailed but the game play is far superior. Also, Shadow Squadron was to my knowledge never released on Saturn.samsonlonghair wrote:Personally, I don't think the 32X is a smart way to use your money. If it's for a collection, certainly. If it's for playing games, no.

YO! JUST STICK IT IN YOUR GENESIS!! I would get a 32x, but not for the reasons you want it. If youre not willing to buy 32x games outside of ports then its a waste of money. My main reason for getting one was because of Knuckles Chaotix, way worth it. So just get the gamecube games. Ive actually been GC collecting recently.

I remember when I fist got my 32x new for my birthday. Now some 15 years latter I can't find all the pieces, I'm trying to put one together. I think it has the best MK2 and Chaotix ruled!!

I love my 32x. It's really cool to see just how far genesis hardware can go with a few upgrades. I'm looking to collect more 32x games, but the ones I have now are fun to play, and look stunning.
