I would recommend the Duo, since getting the Super System Card for less than $100 is nearly impossible.

Duo. It's easier to fix if it breaks down. Also, most of the parts are compatible with the various Japanese PC Engine models (AV cables, controllers/accessories and (depending on the model) AC adapter). The TG-16 uses a different size controller port which is completely incompatible with the PC Engine without mods. Parts are generally cheaper from Japan, so getting a multitap, extra controllers, etc. later on will be a lot easier then finding one locally.

Not only that, but it comes with the System 3.0 card built in. You'll be able to play Japanese Super CD games without any trouble. This is MUCH more of a hassle to do on a TG-16/CD combo if you can't track down a system 3.0 card.

Of course, if you can get a TG-16/CD combo with a multi-tap, at least two controllers AND a system 3.0 card then go for it. Otherwise, get a Duo and save yourself countless headaches.

In essence, pay the equivalent of about $150 (basing price on a decent auction on ebay) and you could have a Turbografx CD combo unit with some decent games.

Or pay the same $150 and get a start bid on the sexy Turbo Duo with some decent games... Only to see it sell off at about $300.

But It's so beautiful

In my personal opinion, I would go for the Turbo Cd combo, unless you have a killer hook-up I don't know about. If you do, PM me because I want in too.

I have a killer hook-up on Duos. I live in Japan. ;)
