Saturn Modchip Installation

Post by Lokkenjawnz »

So I'm not entirely sure which section I should put this in, but I figure this is a good place to start. I'm looking for someone who could install a modchip in my newly acquired saturn (thanks Frag!) in the Bay Area, hopefully on the cheap. I wish I could do it myself, but my soldering skills are literally zilch, and I don't want to damage my precious new toy!

So any help on this would be awesome, I can pretty much drive anywhere in the Bay Area, and I'd prefer to find someone here than on Craigslist, because I trust racketboy-ers more than Craigslist-ers.

Oh, yeah it's a model 2. Forgot to mention that. Should be pretty easy to do. I just don't have the confidence to do it myself.

I don't think it would be too hard to follow.. i mean even if you don't have a soldering ion you can bend up a paper clip to short the A-B points and just shove the wire into the power block pin :P
Saturn, SNES, NGC, Wii, DSi, GBA, GBA Micro, PSX, PS2 and every emulator ever made :P

If you cant find any one, I'll offer to do it. But I'm located in New York so it might be a little pricey to ship it to and fro.

Right, I know it's pretty easy, and I'm sure I could do it more or less, but I want it done right the first time, because I know if I try to just do it the easy way, I'm going to have to open it up over and over again fixing it, such is my luck.

Thanks for the offer, I guess if I really can't find anyone around here that could do it I might take you up on that, but shipping would be a bitch. I think some of my friends are out on the east coast though, so maybe something could work out.

If shipping is going to be any cheaper only going halfway across the country, I'm willing to do it too. Maybe ask Snowkitty? He's at least in the same state.

Hmm, I'm not sure if shipping would actually be cheaper, I don't really know how the postal system works exactly, but I'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks a bunch for the offer dude! This forum rocks!

I might shoot snowkitty a PM, and then figure it out from there. I actually just saw an old thread about the saturn modchip and you described using some little prong thing to make it an easy modular installation. Do you have any pictures of your installation, or of just the prong-cable thing? That looks like a really clean way to do it, might even prompt me to do it myself!
