At first I passed over it thinking it was another cruddy platformer, but today when I went back to check up on their donations it was still there, so I gave it a second look.
When I spotted KONAMI proudly displayed on the top of the box I thought to myself, "why not, it's only two bucks." I treat Konami games the same way I treat Tim Burton: I'll watch any movie he makes even though every one isn't Edward Scissorhands.

When I fired it up I was pleasantly surprised. The colors are great, the sprites have a real feel to them and the backgrounds make good use of scrolling. The difficulty is casually moderate, so nothing will make you sweat here (although I am only on world 3 as of this post). The sound (besides the digitized theme song on the first level) is pretty good too.
Layout is nice, with good use of between level minimaps (a la SMB3)

The controls are tight with the exception of one thing (which for those of you who played Bubsy will understand): when you move forward you build speed into a run- the problem is when you first move it is a tad slow, making it difficult to gauge jumps (although the mid-air movement in this game compensates well for it). Other than getting used to that, the game is a very enjoyable platformer, and worth every 213 pennies I spent on it.
