Is this ridiculous?

Post by Devezu »

Well, is it?

My only regret is that I traded this in a while back after finding it in a dumpster (was a kid, didn't have a PlayStation, didn't care.)

Edit: Still, even for a preserved unit, I find this VERY ridiculous. My mentality towards games is this - I buy and collect games to *play* them and look nice, not sit there and look nice. If I buy a mint game, you bet I'm going to crack it open to play it. I didn't just pay for the game just to look at it.

Edit 2: On second thought, this might be good for the actual preservation (because optical media does have a short lifetime, and flash media has one that is slightly longer), but still - overpriced much? SEGA might want to invest in this to preserve their own source code...

$1200 for a game I can get for $6 on the PSN. Crazy.

I collect games that are fun to play not because how much they are worth. So if I can get the same experience for $6 then thats how I will get it.

I would at least settle for a used GH version from amazon.

"SEGA might want to invest in this to preserve their own source code..."

Wait. What?

I personally don't see any point in buying "collectible" sealed games... especially for ridiculous prices. They are just something that will be nice to look at and collect dust; what's the fun in that???

On another note, I have had an idea floating around in my head of where these types of games would be good. It would be really awesome if a Video Game Museum was established where they had a sealed copy of every game made (if sealed is possible on some items any more). Obviously they would have areas to actually play games... but having a place that contains every sealed game would be quite cool IMO The older these things get the rarer they become and one day it might be very hard to come by.

I love that even though he's asking $1200 he still can't offer free shipping. And come to think of it, $20 is even steep for postage. For $1200 I want him to bring it to my door in his mouth like a Fucking Golden retriever.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
