Well I was just thinking that the Gamecube is an ideal position for budget priced gaming for gamers.
I remember back in the old days where Sega supported 3 consoles Sega Megadrive as their premier platform, Sega Master System for their budget priced games and Game gear for their portable gaming.
Similarly Nintendo had their Super Nintendo as their premier platform , Nintendo Nes as the budget console and Gameboy for portable gaming.
I personally hope that the Gamecube becomes the budget console of our day because now that the Wii has backwards compatability and will play Gamecube games natively. It might just be a good opportunity to breath life into the old console especially considering that gamers that bought the Gamecube over Christmas to play Zelda twilight princess will get new games and Wii owners will still get the benefits of that. Kind of like how the Gameboy advance and Nintendo DS coexist.
People are going to refute my idea because the Cube wasn't as successful as the other consoles of it's time but I personally feel now the opportunity is there who else thinks this might be a good idea ? Its been on my mind for a while now because of the way the Wii plays Cube titles effortlessly.
Gamecube ready for budget gaming ?

Considering Nintendo is still making them, I don't see why they wouldn't still sell them for a while. It's the perfect accesory for backwards compatability.philipofmacedon wrote:I sure hope so.
Has anyone else noticed that Amazon is no longer stocking wavebirds? Other sellers have some but they are not as good as Amazon's old price. I bought one just a few weeks ago for $27 new from Amazon. I hope this is only a short term drought and not permanent.

I could use a couple more, but I'm holding out for a price drop.
I can't afford to shell out $60 for two controllers that will only get used when friends are over (not often).
My wife and I use the two we have all the time and love them though.

Is that normal? I would expect that to sell for more even after price slashing.
I know it's crazy. They still had a ton of them.
They have actually ran that sale a couple of times.
