Making an Atari game

Post by classicgamer5 »

I know REPO Man wanted to start a game development group, but I think making an Atari game would be awesome. Its an actual cart that you can put into your 2600 and play. I found an Instructable on it http://www.instructables.com/id/SAZYBHWFS8O2SYW/. Has anyone here ever made or tried to make one? Is anyone interested?

A bit too archaic for me. . . An nes game would be better.

The advantage of Atari VCS development is that you can actually write a game in a day, and there are a couple of very easy design tools to let you do this.

An NES is really quite a bit more complicated than a VCS.

The downside of VCS programming is that there is no frame buffer.
Systems: TI-99/4a, Commodore Vic-20, Atari 2600, NES, SMS, GB, Neo Geo MVS (Big Red 4-slot), Genesis, SNES, 3DO, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GBA, GCN, NDSi, Wii
