What are some good Saturn action RPGs?

Post by classicgamer5 »

I bought a Saturn recently, and I love RPGS, but not turn based ones. Are there any good action RPGs for the Saturn?

Shining wisdom is a pretty good game. I've never played it but I hear magic knight rayearth is good.

I'll second legend of Oasis, it's very good.

As for non turned based RPGs, I don't know if this qualifies for you, but Shining Force III was good (it's not turn based in the traditional sense, it takes place on a large battlefield where characters move along a grid.

Shining Wisdom is a decent Zelda-esque game too.
And Dragon Force. dlmvii fucking loves him some Dragon Force.

Herc's Adventures and Magical Knight Rayearth are the two big ones I'd like to get for myself.

Here's another vote for Magic Knight Rayearth; a game I need to get myself (I played some of it on the SSF emu).

I've got Shining Wisdom (had it since about 1997/8), Ray Earth and Legend of Oasis. They're all good. Oasis is my favourite of the bunch, so I recommend it first.

Guardian Heroes is *sort of* an action RPG.

Magic Knight Rayearth is great; I can vouch for that. Also, if you can read Japanese, I bet Princess Crown is good. If you can't, then you might want to pick up the PS2 sequel, Odin Sphere.

Dark Savior probably counts as an ARPG, although the battles play out with fighting game mechanics. It's actually an amazing game.
