Re: Open Tyrian
I've somehow never played much any of Tyrian, looks like it's time to start.
Re: Open Tyrian
Man, I love Epic Megagames. So many classics that they developed or produced, and they're far too often forgotten by the masses.
Re: Open Tyrian
I believe this already existed. In fact, they ported it to the DreamCast.
And yes, Tyrian DOES kick ass.

It's awesome. They've ported it to PSP, Nintendo DS, Wii, Symbian S60 phones, I Phone/ipod, GP2x Wiz, and probably more.
Re: Open Tyrian
I just tried the iPhone version and... meh. Of course, that's all going towards it's only flaw... the control. Sorry, but a touch screen is no substitute for a Dpad and buttons. We need a controller adapter for the iPhone. Oh, wait... Apple doesn't want us to have that. And all because every game that would use it would have to be updated to use it.
And another thing... that's why I hated the iPhone OS version of Mega Man 2.
Personally, I think it should hook up to the bottom. The left side would feature a detachable Dpad that could be swapped out for an analog stick. And the right would feature swappable button sets (4 buttons, 2 buttons, 2 buttons + analog stick, etc).
