Pokemon Crystal Battery

Is the battery in Pokemon Crystal used for saving or just the clock? Someone set me straight, please!

It's used for both. But the clock drains the battery so fast which is the reason it stops saving after a while.

which is why you should replace it with a CR2032 instead of the stock CR2025 heehee, it will last longer (same voltage, more mah). will be a tight squeeze to get the cart back together, but it fits.
