Death Smiles 2 and Trouble Witches

Has anyone noticed how simular Death Smiles 2 gameplay mechanics are when compared to Trouble Witches? It seems as if Cave used Trouble Witches as inspiration.

Why do you say that? I haven't played it or anything, so I'm just curious. I have the first one for Xbox 360, and actually really like it. Is the second one not as good?
