Hey you Saturn importers: Anybody heard of this game Steamgear Mash? It's an isometric shooter with character progression (a la Metroid). Cartoony, but amazing 3D nonetheless, and pretty fun to play! I guess it plays a little like Scurge: Hive, although I only played about ten minutes of that.
There are two videos on YouTube, but they're both pretty crap and use bad emulation with the game running at like 1/5 speed, but here's the Satakore page with a bunch of screenshots.

It's Japan-only, but apparently not very rare. Found my copy for like three bucks or something.

Don't remember the exact price, but I remember it being cheap enough that I bought it on a whim without knowing anything about it or even giving it a second thought. Generally that means under 500.Breetai wrote:But how much would you sell it for?fingersmaloy wrote:It's Japan-only, but apparently not very rare. Found my copy for like three bucks or something.

Unfortunately I don't really sell games these days. Not sure why, but I enjoy having the collection. But check out Yahoo Auctions, man! http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/s ... 0jp&acc=jp

Surely I've come across some, but the hidden gems page on this site is actually pretty thorough! My favorite by far is Bulk Slash. One of the only fully 3D action games on the Saturn, and it's an exclusive, at that. And it's fun! In the last two days I've played through it three times. Something about it is just so compelling to me.d123456 wrote:Hey man, thanks for the tip, never knew it existed, look like a ...dare I say...hidden gem.

Also, and I've mentioned this before, Chain Dive on the PS2 is fun, retro-esque, cheap, and mostly overlooked. Video here:
Check out the comments for lots of foul-mouthed praise.

Wow. I've never even given this game a second thought. I guess I will now!

This should probably be a separate thread at this point, but you might also check out the unfortunately titled Cyber Doll if your Japanese is okay or you just don't care. It's a cyberpunk RPG with cool sprite graphics and an interesting fighting system where you have lots of big guns and can target enemies' individual body parts. Check out this battle with Christ. It's pretty blasphemous:

Hmmm, looks cool. I've always liked it when games that use a 2.5 viewpoint such as this.
