Is ZSNES safe?
Is ZSNES safe?
Ok, so I've downloaded ZSNES twice before, both times spaced out maybe 2 or 3 months apart. Now, both times when I downloaded it, my anti virus soon after detects a virus, and whenever I check it, it's a key logger. Both times, I got it from emuparadise, which I think is a pretty trustworthy site, except for this one emulator. So, is anyone else using it that would like to tell me if it's safe?

Xbook and N6T4P not showing. My current projects!
Re: Is ZSNES safe?
Whoops, I meant emulator-zone, not emuparadise. But, I read an article on here, and Racketboy said that he thinks ZSNES is better.
Well, if Snes9x has the same easy setup, then I guess I could go with that, but I'd still like to have ZSNES. But beggars can't be choosers.

ZSNES is definitely safe. I've never had or heard of the problem you're mentioning, so I'm not sure what that's about. I would just download it from their actual site:
http://www.zsnes.com/index.php?page=files

They're so similar that I prefer ZSNES just because it looks prettier. I've had to use Snes9x in the past to play a couple patches though (SMT 1/2).
Re: Is ZSNES safe?
I use both ZSNES and Kegafusion, I didn't get any viruses. I'm not sure what website I got them from. Kegafusion is great for Gen, 32x, SegaCd, GameGear, and SMS.
Systems: Sega Dreamcast(x2), Sega Genesis(x2), Sega Saturn, Sega CD, Genmobile (portable Genesis), FC Twin, PSX, PS2(x2), GBA, SP, Xbox 360, N64, Showcase Arcade
Re: Is ZSNES safe?
Oh man, thanks to all of you. I've been contemplating trying it again, but didn't wanna risk the virus. Must've got a bad download or something. Guess I'll download from the official site. Thanks again.

Re: Is ZSNES safe?
I prefer SNES9X. The UI for ZSNES just looks ugly to me. ZSNES was the first emulator for any system I ever used, though, so it has some nostalgic value.
Re: Is ZSNES safe?
ZSNES stole my car and shot my dog. Be careful.
