I haven't done much burning. I put my games on the hard drive. I did make one DVD in order to install a new dashboard. I believe it was TDK. I didn't have any issues with DVD-R but DVD-RW or CD-RW did not work for me.

Use Imgburn and Verbatim DVD-R discs. There are 3 models of dvd-rom drives in original xbox's, and some of them cannot read re-writable dvd's or cd's.

The Phillips (that's the one I have) and I *think* Samsung drives read copied discs. For burning programs, I've just used Nero and any cheap CD and it's always worked fine.

Always use DVD decrypter for burning Xbox isos. It's by far the most compatible one.

If you want to know how to copy games to iso files you need to connect the xbox to your network and use QWIX.

the reason i was asking is because i found a bunch of blank dvds at my girlfriends house that are TDK DVD+Rs.... do +Rs not work?

It depends on the drive. Some of the drives only read cdrw some only read +r some read them all. Just check your drives compatibility. There's plenty of links online with how to check what your drive is and what's compatible with it.
