Name this game!
Name this game!
Inspirded by jrecee's post. In the 5th or 6th grade, so...'85-'87 maybe. I used to play this game on a computer in school and for my entire life I have wondered what it was. 2D, obviously, and it was a fantasy adventure type game. I remember starting in a forest and there was no scrolling. When you got to the edge of the screen then it scrolled over to a new screen. I remember being able to get up in the trees and walk along their branches. All I remember is being able to jump and picking stuff up. I do not remember combat. I know that is vague as hell. I can not even remember if movement was point and click but I really believe it was.

Well, it is pretty vague..but I used to love this game in 6th grade.

That was more like '91 or '92 though
Pharaohs Tomb

Re: Name this game!
Definitely not Pharohs Tomb. It actually looked close to Legend of Kyrandia but watching videos of it does not ring a bell, plus it is atleast 5 years too new.
Looking through Westwood Studios...gameography?...I dont think it was made by them.

In Quest For Glory (the original) there was a tree with a bird's nest in it that you could get down in a number of ways, after which you would find a ring in it that belonged to the healer living in the house next to said tree. Sounds sort of like it.

Damn. Nevermind. QFG 1 came out in 89, the version this screen is from in 91.

Re: Name this game!
Yeah, that is not it. Thanks though. I remember the screen with the tree the most too. It may have just been the one tree you could get into. Thinking on it I think you had to get into the tree to cross a pond or river or something and the branches of another tree met it over the water, or you had to get something up in the branches. My memories are faint lol. It was in 5th grade for sure and I was born in '76 so that is what...'86 it had to be released before?
Maybe it was one of the first three Kings Quest games...
Edit: I think part of the problem is I may have mentally enhanced the graphics as time went on lol.
Edit: OK, looking on the internet Langford Elementary School in Austin is PK-5 and it was the school I went to after that which was Widain Middle School so I guess it was 6th grade. Not that that probably helps.
