Best retro system for your money?
I have to say the genesis, everything for it is dirt cheap. You can take the same game and it's like this with lots of games the genesis version is cheaper. By a lot sometime, zombies ate my neighbors and booger man come to mind.

I was just going to say NES when I searched eBay for some Genesis game prices, they are pretty similar so I'd say both, hard to decide.

Genesis I think. And most games come with boxes.

I agree about the Genesis. Besides it fitting my tastes better than the snes, it has lots of really good inexpensive games, with nice boxes. I love being able to have cases for my genny games without paying a arm and a leg for them.

I thought genesis too, but then I thought atari. Most games are under a buck.

PS1 Cheap system 1000s of games a lot of them can be had for a couple dollars. I see more cased PS1 games then Genesis when I go shopping. Second place goes to Atari 2600. Retailers are starting to sell them at $40+ but almost any fleamarket or secondhand store has them under $20. Now talking about cheap games 50¢-$2 at most retailers and even cheaper from yard sales, fleamarkets, and secondhand shops.

Sega Dreamcast. Great library, and no modification needed to play backups. Might not be great for those who want to own real copies of the game, but hey - owning real copies of the game is a luxury! If you don't have a lot of cash, you just have to deal with it.
While I personally like many other retro consoles more, Dreamcast is definitely the way to go if you have a thin wallet.

I second that
Older consoles you can have them emulated on many machines and they work just as well.
The Dreamcast is not so easy to emulate(lest generation), its dirt cheap, you can play backups on, it has fair prices, and its one great experience.

Genesis. Most the best games for it are cheap. Unlike snes where the best games go for $10-$15+, without boxes.

Genesis or Dreamcast for sure. Maybe Atari 2600 if you are into that sorta stuff.
