Some people just don't know how to boycott

Post by J T »

There certainly are a lot of Modern Warfare 2 Boycott group members currently in a game of Modern Warfare 2.

Well, I'm sticking to my guns. L4D2 already got my cash. If I ever pick MW2 up, it's going to be secondhand.

I never really got what was so great about the Modern Warfare games. I downloaded the first game and played through single player; it was pretty good but also quite short compared to other games. I also played this game at a LAN party and had a pretty good time, but I don't see what was so much greater about this game than something like Battlefield 1942 and Counterstrike which came before it.

For the second game it sounds like the campaign is cool/action packed, but there isn't really a story to hold it together (short like the first game). The multiplayer looks about the same but has some tweaks (I don't know if dual wielding machine guns should be added  ). It seems like this game was way over-hyped just like the Halo series was. Not to mention the PC version is neutered compared to the first game.

ON TOPIC:
Man... does nobody have willpower anymore? lol Left 4 Dead 2 PC and New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be getting most of my playtime in the near future.

I think the real issue is that these people don't want to feel left out. So their buddy who doesn't give a shit about dedicated servers picks it up and starts enjoying it. They can't let Steve have all the fun, so they pick it up themselves.

See, the trick is to develop a bit of a misanthropic streak, so you don't have to worry about what the fuck other people are doing. They're all idiots anyway.

Every boycott and petition on the Internet is fucking rubbish. It never makes a difference.

And it especially won't when we all go out and buy the thing we're supposedly boycotting. Oh well, I didn't buy it. Maybe in a year or two, after the likes of Activision and EA have successfully killed the PC as a viable gaming platform, while they're walking around and feeling all big about themselves, I'll go out and buy one copy. Just so I can grin and think about Activision's leadership freaking when they discover that there's at least one guy playing PC games out there in the world.

And then when they send their angry goons to come to my house, I'll beat them off, Home Alone style.
