S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky

Post by Ack »

Ok guys, this arrived in the mail yesterday. A couple of you guys mentioned that mods really help the stability of this game and make it a better overall experience. I haven't installed it yet, but I'm wondering if some of you guys could point me in the right direction for what to look up. I know I'm going to patch it...it was practically required for the first one anyway.

0I don't know of any mods for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky that will improve stability, but I'm pretty sure that like Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky is more stable in XP than in Vista.

The Sky Reclaimation Project is necessary for dealing with all the lingering issues. I haven't really had a chance to dig into CS yet, so I'd recommend you check out what's popular at Filefront.

Clear Sky is a hot mess.....and something about purchasing a Ukrainian PC game just feels wrong.

Anyways, I'm not familiar with any mods that increase stability.

Well, I got it, updated it, then installed that mod, and it works pretty well. I've had one issue where I died randomly, and then a few minor issues with an ironsight not lining up(the gun went off to the left of the screen, but it's been stable, so I'm happy. It's fun and reminds me of the first.

Started playing it, seems to be a good excuse to re-visit the Zone. And it's 100% free!

I need to try to get the third game running again. It was just crashing left and right when I tried on my new rig. :(
