This thread is about Missed Opportunities if that wasn't obvious. The idea is to talk about times where you could have gotten a game for a good price but missed it.
I'll start. I kept putting off getting Samurai Shodown Anthology for PS2 and now its out of print and fetching high prices on the resale circuit. The list price was only 15 bucks now people want 50.

Wow I bought mine a month ago brand new for under $20. I just looked at eBay - the price shot up fast!
Re: Missed Opportunities
Just earlier this month I missed a free pile of C64 stuff on CL because I didn't check my email regularly enough. At least 5 C64s and 2 monitors and associated disk drives I gather. Oh well.

Well, file me under the "Missed out on Samurai Showdown Anthology" group as well, then. I can't freakin' believe this crap.

Yeah, except even when I did have a Wii, I still wanted it for the PS2 instead. Sigh. This makes me a sad panda.

I wish I'd picked up a Saturn from Toys R Us when they were blowing them out. Had a roomate that got one at the time but I just didn't for some reason

Re: Missed Opportunities
I guess it depends on how far back we're talking here. Most recently. . .
I totally should have bought a ps3 at launch to ebay instead of a wii. I was gone for a week after it came out and by the time I got back to ebay it they were only going for about $50 over msrp, not even worth the work. PS3s meanwhile were going for $1000 for almost a month.
Back in the day. . . Toys R Us clerancing 32X systems and games. Games were like $5 a piece. The system was $30. Of course I was in 5th grade so I really didn't have the money to stock up on games or the forsight to think. . . hmm, maybe one day there will be an online community where people pay exorbitant amounts of money for sealed games.
Oh and I should have bought a bunch of dreamcasts when they were $50 in 2002.
I was also informed by my mom recently that she used to own both a Ford Torino and a Dodge Charger. I don't feel so bad about losing out on $500 from ebaying a ps3. . .
