Hey all, I was recently thinking that summers on its way, for those of us south of the equator, and this will be my first summer with a Xbox360 (Falcon Board), Melbourne summers are known to heat up towards 40c and im worried my 360 wont be able to take the heat.
I'm thinking of buying a third party cooling system to help with this, does anybody know how effective they how?
Summers coming, dont let your xbox 360 get burnt!

3rd party cooling systems are going to be sketchy. Some people swear by them and some swear they'll actually RRoD your system. I picked up the Antec USB-powered notebook cooler after reading about how a guy used to have disc read problems before he started using it the cooler. It fits under the 360 very well, and elevates it a centimeter or so off the actual cooler. Has a couple fans.
I don't know if it actually keeps the system cold or not but it probably isn't hurting the system. The USB jacks get power reguardless if the system is even on so it can't heat up that much from just plugging it in.
Honestly- there isn't really a way to tell if the system is going to RRoD on you anyway. It could with the cooler. It could without. It is all a crapshoot. Here is an amazon link to the cooler i got.
If you click on " See all 20 customer images" you'll see a couple shots with a 360 sitting on the cooler and some notes.

I know but in these hot ass Aussie summer days I figure cooling a system known for having heat issues a bit couldn't hurt.Honestly- there isn't really a way to tell if the system is going to RRoD on you anyway. Thanks for the idea though.

I usually store all my games downstairs, seeing as my house sorta half goes underground to keep my family cool....
