Wave Birds at Gamestop?

Post by noiseredux »

It seems to me that the only SKU for a wireless GC controller is one that reads "Any". Which leads me to believe that there could be used Wave Birds at Gamestop for $18. Any know for sure? I'd love to find one.

I've stumbled across a couple at gamestops, got em on the cheap.

but I also raided like 10+ Gamestops regularly, and just got lucky.

Yup I bought a few of these a while back although I ended up selling all but one of them back to GameStop when I was desperate for cash about a year ago.

I can confirm this. I just picked up two Wavebirds at my Gamestop for 17.99 each. I had to return one of them because the R and A buttons were jamming, but the other one's okay.

There are still like 2 or 3 wavebirds at that same store, but they've got some dings on them (scratches, rubber pads missing from analog sticks).

I hate shit like that. I hit up my local momnpop the other day and they had 2 Nintendo branded GC controllers, and on both of them the analog stick was gone. I mean gone, like a dog ate them. And they wanted $11.99 for them. So I said "um... the analog sticks are gone." And they said, "well we could give you a discount." And I said :|

I got my Wavebird at GC about a year ago. It was like 19 bucks with the tax and all.

Then I've got to tell you about this especially sour-looking Wavebird I saw at that Gamestop. The nubs on the analog stick were intact but there were these weird scratches on the controller. I'm not an orthodontist, but I'm pretty sure that pattern could only have been left by human teeth.

Anyway, I surmise that someone lost at Mario Kart and took it pretty hard.

Needless to say, I passed on that one.

Well if you're thrifty and own a Tri-Wing screwdriver then you could just swap the analog nubs with those from a broken GCN controller that's in good shape.

I scored a couple of wavebirds from gamestop in the spring of this year but they're getting harder to find now that Gamestop is carrying less and less gamecube stuff.

It's weird how they underprice certain items like the Wavebird & the Broadband adapter (I scored 2 of them earlier this year for $.99) but then their other stuff is overpriced. (e.g, Mario Party 7 for $29)
