Hi,
I'm looking for challenging strategy games for NES. And I prefer japanese style games, so nothing like M.U.L.E. or Nort and south.
Great NES strategy games?
Re: Great NES strategy games?
Fire Emblem and Famicom Wars are the first two that come to mind.

There's "Desert Commander" plays somewhat like Advance Wars and of course the original "Famicom Wars"
Thanks everyone...

The NES also saw the first two Romance of Three Kingdoms games, as well as Nobunaga's Ambition 1 and 2. I don't know how available those are in Germany, though.

Basically look for any Koei Games for strategy games on the Nes. They aren't really the most challenging or have very good A.I but I have been a big fan of Koei since the 80's They are great for learning some history and for having fun. Games like L Emperor,Liberty or Death, Bandit Kings of Ancient China, Nobunaga's Ambition 1,2, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 1,2,3. I also liked the game called Shingen the Ruler. If I think of anymore I will list them for you later.

Shingen the Ruler is quite good but it's hell to survive at first. If you can survive the first years it gets way easier.
Thanks everyone...

Last time I played the game I was about to be a teenager, but I remember I would actually give up one of my provinces to have a stronger single force. Since if I remember correctly I always lost one anyway since my forces were divided. Then I would build the main base up and my army and then strike back out and reclaim my lost province and continue on my conquest. Funny thing is sometimes that empty province would sit there and nobody would attack it for a while.Gnashvar wrote:Shingen the Ruler is quite good but it's hell to survive at first.
