Gunmetal Dreamcast

Post by DNT 2.5 »

Well, This was a test to see how well Plastic model paint and clear coat for model airplanes would paint ABS plastic, so without further ado, I present, The DREAMCAST

Near the seam where the two halves of the console meet, didn't get enough paint

Very nice, but disassemble the unit next time you do a paint job to prevent the seams from showing and to get a better coat of paint on the plastic.

I did disassemble the unit, I just was too lazy to build a proper support to hold the bottom.

Looks good in gunmetal. Next time, you could take some corrugated cardboard and fashion it into a cylinder to hold it up off the ground for painting.

Looks pretty good. Did you dissasemble the whole system including the modem or did you just forget to spray the insides of both sides of the casing to cover up the seams?

I'd crack her open one more time and finish up that one last detail and it will look even better. :D

Too bad you couldn't save the from SEGA and Powered by WindowsCE badges in the front... I wonder if taping them off with stenciling tape would have worked.

Either way, it's one of the better paintjobs I've seen for the system. Well done. 8)

I just forgot that the seams were so large, I cant really spray anymore because it is clear coated and it would look even worse, I finished the controller, and DAMN ITS SEXY!
