32X: Is it worth it?
I'm just curious as to whether I should bother getting one...i'm sure I would get one eventually, but what would be a good price that you would pay for one? I don't want to pay too much for one : D

If you're a collector, yes, it is worth it. If not, no.
Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
^ Pretty much. If you can pick one up locally, that's probably your best bet. If you decide to buy one make sure it has the necessary cords, because tracking those things down is a total pain.
Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
Being a 32x owner since it came out, i;d hafta concur with the previous 2 posts. It had a unique albeit short list of games, the best in my opinion to be:
Knuckles Chaotix
Kolibri
Doom
Star Wars Arcade
Virtua Racing Deluxe
Virtua Fighter
There are other obscure games on the system, including Sega CD32x games like Corpse killer that require Sega Cd and 32x to work with. Also worth mentioning is Mortal Kombat 2 which is a solid, solid game and Cosmic Carnage which is a decently unique fighter for the time, where if I remember correctly you could unlock an "alternate game" with re-skinned fighters.
Cheers!

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
Unless your a hardcore sega fan stay away. The only truly good expierience that you can't get better on another console is star wars arcade. The games were mostly crappy inferior ports. The only reason I have one is being a sega completionist.
Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
Kolibri is THE definitive hummingbird shooter for the 32x. So if you do decide to get one you sohuld get it.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
OK here's the skinny on the 32X:
1.) It's a great console with a great to decent (albeit small) amount of games for it.
2.) It's also a video co-processor for your Genesis! If you have one of these hooked up it acts as a pass-through when it detects a Genesis game, but it bypasses the Genesis' main video output and instead pulls the RGB signal and processes it with it's much higher quality video encoder creating a clean crisp colorful image near S-Video levels of quality. This is especially helpful if you have an earlier revision of the Model 2 Genesis with it's cheap encoder and awful lines on the screen, or a Model 1 all of which have a colorful but slightly blurry Composite out.
3.) CABLES! The 32X can be a pain to find complete, make sure to get one with all the cables you'll need, primarily the video ones are important as it uses the same AC as the Model 2 Genesis, Nomad and Game Gear. The AV patch cables it has come in two versions, a single cable for Model 2 Genesis systems only, or the Model 2 and a shorter adaptor cable for the Model 1's large AV Multiout. The Model 1 cable can be tricky to come across, but it's not too difficult if you look hard enough.
4.) SPACERS! The 32X shipped with a spacer for the Model 2 Genesis to keep the system stable and wobble free and prevent it from crashing due to accidental disconnection from the Genesis if it moved, usually this is included with most 32X's found bundled with a Model 2 Genesis. You do not require the spacer if you have a Model 1 as both systems sit flush together.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
One more thing, it requires its own power brick. So if you're using it with a Gen, you'll have to have room for 2 wall warts. If you're using it with a SCD, you'll have 3 to plug in.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
Might've been worth it if they had published virtua hamster on it and not canceled it.
