What to do with a broken Gamecube?

Post by Skullz »

Someone is giving me a broken Gamecube and controller, I may tinker with it to see if I can get it to work, but right now I'm trying to think of some cool way to mod it. Maybe make some sort of decoration with it for my game area? I don't know yet, what's everyone's ideas?

What exactly is wrong with it?

I would personally open it up and see if it's fixable. Gamecubes are pretty cheap now, but it may be interesting to see what makes the thing tick. Also, the free controller is a good deal no matter if the console can be fixed or not.

As far as modding it goes, I'm sure there are some guys here who could give you some great ideas. I've seen some impressive work on these boards!

I'd be down for the ashtray idea.

My brother's Gamecube stop reading games so he shook it and now it works! Anyway, if mine didn't work I would mod it or use it as a bookend, it would look pretty cool on a shelf next to some knickknacks or action figures. Those systems are pretty powerful for being so little.

I like the ashtray idea, but I don't smoke. I have a bar in my basement and could use it for guest. It's a possibility. The lunchbox idea is another good one. The design of the Gamecube makes it perfect, but I don't think I'll ever use it. Really good idea though. The thing is with the Gamecube, I don't know what's wrong with it. I might tinker with it to see if I can actually get it to work. Also, to my understanding, the controller don't work either, so I could do something with that also. I'm getting it off of Freecycle btw.
