Leaked Toys R Us Ad Shows Wii At $199

Last week Wal-Mart ad set for October that mentioned a "price rollback" for the Wii, and now a new Toys R Us ad set for the last week of September is advertising the Wii for $199.99. This would seem to indicate that the Wii price
cut could happen as soon as the end of the month.

Nintendo still hasn't commented on any of this, but the evidence is all pointing to one thing: a Wii price cut, and soon. :D

It's about time all there other systems had a price cut by the time it was 3 years old. I wonder if they would still make a profit out of every system sold at that price? I have always favored bundles over price drops. I think a good one for the wii would be a classic controller, $10 wii points, wii motion plus, an extra Wii remote and nunchuck (so 2 can play out off the box) and either Maro galaxy or Zelda thrown in. When I bought my Super Nintendo in 92 in came with 2 controllers, supermario world, and a coupon for one free select SNES game. I choose King of the Monsters.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

Its amazing how well the Wii did despite its lack of features the other two systems have. It feels like Dreamcast all over again except the Wii is still being sold in mass after 2 years even without a price drop.

I'll probably pick up a used one this Christmas after the price drop since used stuff in Japan looses more value after a system price drop.

Makes me feel a little bit better about selling mine a while back. I have to buy it again eventually, good to know it's going to be cheaper.

While I agree a black one would be nice, aren't Wiis glossy like the PS3 fat? Just thinking about the possibility of it being a fingerprint magnet if it came to be.

Heh, not a moment too soon. I'll be honest though, I didn't expect this to happen for like 2 more months. I guess Nintendo just woke up from a drunken stupor and said "what's this? My competition is cutting their prices? Well fine, I can play that game too."
