Whose game room makes you jealous?

Post by J T »

OK, it's probably safe to say that everyone is jealous of Maximus Clean's room because it is just unreal:
http://racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... a&start=40

So, who else has a swank room, historic console collection, or diverse glut of games that just make you a tad bit green with envy?

I love looking at the rooms people have put together and the collections they've compiled. One recent one that I was impressed with is pepharytheworm's:
http://racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=14763

There are just so many things in there I don't have, which is why it appeals to me, and there is such a diverse range of consoles and games that I just think it's a cool set.

I also like Corn619's room. The painted panels make it look like he is in a videogame, and it's definitely a wicked collection:

What are some of your favorites from this subforum?

As far as game rooms go, it's not so much the room itself but a few of the things this guy has in it that's impressed me. This guy has built some incredible looking MAME arcade cabs. Perhaps even cooler, is his stereo; "The Metal Station". I won't describe it, but it's something that really needs to be seen. Here's the link to his stuff: http://www.knievelkustoms.com/index.htm.

Also, maybe I'll be vain and try to make someone jealous with my own Japanese console collection (my American consoles aren't in the pic). To avoid being completely vain, I'll just link to it instead of having a giant pic on the first page of this thread: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/download/file.php?id=842. I got my MSX after I took this. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it into a really sweet game room for a few years.

I'm working on my studio/game room in my new house since i've moved in a couple weeks ago. Buying some new furniture and figuring out how to display it in a way that a normal woman would not run out of the room screaming.

Not quite there yet.

I gotta say- I love looking at collections, but when they are in piles or not in a well organized way it makes me a little crazy. Like the collector has half of the equation. Good furniture. Good design. It goes a long way. Maximus Clean's room is one of the best examples of that. Gearboxoffice also springs to mind.

There are a handful of other game rooms that flow to the opposite side of what i look for but pull it off really well. Rooms that just make me nostalgic as soon as i see photos. They remind me of the basements and garages i spent most of my time in as a kid playing nintendo. You can't reproduce it. It just is what it is.

yeah dude. this is the extra mile (perhaps more than one mile) that i'm talking about.

can you imagine this same pic, but styled in a zelda theme rather than motley crew? All old wood and steel. Gold triforce inlay.

If you guys have not seen this already, you will be way more than amazed. THIS is why I stopped collecting video games a while ago, because comparing to this, every single collection I had ever seen before was just...small..and so are ALL collections in this thread
(yes, even Maximus Clean's :!: )

So here it is, this link may change your life, and change the way you look at video games collections

i don't know man. It is epic for sure, but it doesn't have any personality. When you have EVERY game, a: i know he didn't play all of them and b: I have no sense of him as a gamer and by extention what he looks for in buying/loving games. Dude just gets em all. Robots can do that too.

I mean, I look at my own collection and it is clear that i really want to love metal gear solid, but just could never get into it. That hardcore stealth games arn't really my cup of tea. That I only got into a few saturn/n64/psx titles. Largely skipping that generation of console just because it wasn't my flavor.

I look at this and i feel like i'm in a store, not a gameroom. Not trying to shit on it because like i said it is an epic collection and i'll give it props for that. I'm just saying that if that gameroom was given to me, i could easily and with no remorse sell at the very least half of it.

Yeah, you're right. Even though it's epic, I love looking at other's collections much better. But this collection really shocked me...it was like Super Mario 64 on the NES :D A sight to behold.

Don't be jealous of other people's game rooms. Just enjoy the game room you already have. Be happy you have your own little corner of the world to enjoy video games.

My game room is nothing special, but it's mine. I wouldn't trade it for anyone else's because it has the little personal touches that I gave it.

This isnt from the Racketboy forums, but this guys console collection is pretty much complete. Everything is CIB also. Its quite impressive.

He says he's starting to sell it off though.

I'll be building some custom shelving for my game room in the next week or so. I'll be sure to post some pics up once I've got it set up and hopefully I can make someones jealous post.
