Dreamcast Homebrew Scene
Dreamcast Homebrew Scene
So I'm lookin to start getting into the dreamcast homebrew scene (consumer, not creator), but I don't know what to look for or how to acquire/process good homebrews. Can anybody give me some pointers?

Well, you definately want to look for self boots. So much easier. Anyway, to be able to play burned games, you need A) A Dreamcast manufactured before year 2000 B) Alchohol 120% C) A couple of CD-R's D) Some homebrew games. Once you download the game, they may be in a .rar package, to unzip this, download WinRAR and extract all the little bits. You should then get a cd image (.iso, .cdr etc). With Alchohol 120%, you want to burn at a slow speed with the settings of RAW-DAO. As soon as its done burning, you should be able to pop in and play.CAv wrote:So I'm lookin to start getting into the dreamcast homebrew scene (consumer, not creator), but I don't know what to look for or how to acquire/process good homebrews. As far as homebrew, there are some neat things out there, as well as some unreleased games you may want to try. My burning starter list would be:
Half Life
Counter Strike
Propeller Arena
Doom
Older. Not wiser.
