N64 controller problem
N64 controller problem
Hey guys just picked up another controller and when I plug it in the system says there's no controller. Any guesses? It's probably broken but maybe I can fix it.

Re: N64 controller problem
Is the wire chewed up? Could be a break in the cord somewhere. If it looks like its been dropped a lot something could have come loose inside.

Does the console recognize other controllers plugged into that port?
Is the plug that goes into the console in very good shape?
If you've done a visual inspection and everything looks good, I'm not sure what more you can do without a multimeter and an oscilloscope.
