When I play my Sega Genesis I notice my picture is a bit tilted and isn't evenly centered. Its flush to the left but isn't centered on the right side of the screen and also the picture is a bit tilted down and right a bit. My TV has a tilt option but no center option. Heres my setup so you can help me better:
Genesis Model two with AV cable
Sony 32" Trinitron XBR tube TV.
Why is my Sega Genesis picture crooked on my TV?

should i take a picture of what it looks like on my TV for better understanding?
Re: Why is my Sega Genesis picture crooked on my TV?
Do your other game consoles do the same thing? If you don't have any other consoles, perhaps it's your TV. Adjust the settings on your TV.

Yes, if you can get a good picture of the TV that would help.

If your other games are fine, it could be the signal circuitry inside the Gen. Different resolutions are going to sync a little differently with the TV. Think about old CRT PC monitors and having to adjust the size and location of the image when you'd play games versus your desktop. Heck, even lots of PS games let you adjust the screen placement. I don't know if the different models of the Genesis have variable resistors in the picture output circuitry that are adjustable or not that would shift the image one way or the other. It could also be capacitors dying, similiar to the issue that Game Gears have.

Hmm. Actually its everything, I thought it was the Genesis because I just bought it but it seems like something in my TV got knocked off center while moving. Looks like I could possibly use a minor yoke adjustment on my TV.

Sucks your TV is a little out of whack, but at least you figured out for sure where the problem is.

Re: Why is my Sega Genesis picture crooked on my TV?
Yeah, thanks for the replies.
I took a picture for no reason but I'll post it here. As you can tell its way off to the left due to the empty space on the right and also its crooked down right a bit if you compared the bottom right to the bottom left. I have never sent a TV to a mom and pop repair place but I probably should since its a bit off and its probably the best TV you can get for older consoles. Wonder how much it will cost.

I had a similar problem on my tv a few years ago. I found a repair manual for my tv online and it described how to go into the service menu where you can make manual adjustments to the picture size and position etc. perhaps that would work?

Yeah, it's actually quite a simple adjustment that you can do in software if your TV has a service menu, or your local TV repair shop can do a hardware if more adjustments are needed.
