amazing.

is there anyone who knows anything about wine? i'm curious if the price is $125 because it's a good wine, because it's a dreamcast-commemorative bottle, or both.

Robert Mondavi "Reserve" wines are generally speaking fairly high priced. That is to say that it probably retailed at $30-50 dollars (when released in 1999). For the most part, wine does increas in value as it ages (up until a point in time when the wine has past it's peak maturity and actually gets worse). I am not sure about the drinkability of the 1996 vintage, but nonetheless it's a combination of both.

If you look closely, you can see the line in the bottle where the wine is...so yes, it's not opened.

I'd venture to say that this was a wine collector who either worked for Mondavi, or knew someone that worked at the vineyard at the time.
