The Fake Super Nintendos on Ebay

Post by ColdsnapBryan »

Hello,
I was wondering if any of the fake Super Nintendos on ebay are actually better than the original? I know most of you are collectors here and would probably prefer the original, I do already have one and I was just curious if any of those offered something better like a RGB cord or something?

If by fake you mean clones, then there are some good products. The one I purchased was the Retro Duo which plays both NES and SNES games. It does it pretty well, with only a small amount of sound distortion on the NES games, really really clean games solve this problem. The SNES isn't quite as up to par as far as actually handling software, but I understand it does it better than most clones do, including being able to play such titles as Starfox and Super Mario RPG.

No, the clones are in no way better than the real thing.

Hmmm,

What about the ones that play NES, SNES and Genesis? I was actually considering one of those even though I own all three systems. I just thought it might be a fun thing to have in another room with a spare TV. . . . Any thoughts?

Peace,

Haven't all the clones also pretty much been all composite only? With a real SNES you have the option for s-video without any modding, and it looks pretty good. Look for an s-video cable for an N64 or Gamecube, its the same cable for a SNES.

While the convenience factor of having three consoles as in one package is tempting, I'd stick with the originals. The clone systems have compatibility issues, poor build quality and distortion with some games. I had one and it was terrible and lasted only 3 months before it broke.

Ha ha!

Thanks, I think you've convinced me. ;) Anyway, yeah, I think you sound dead on. I'm going to go play some games now . . . and stop considering stupid things.
