Yes all lightguns work on a flat-screen long as it's a flat-screen CRT not a flat-panel LCD, Plasma or other display tech.

The Guncon2 is even compatible with some HD-CRT TV's with the use of the PlayStation AV Adaptor dongle and component cables as the Guncon 2 has a 100hz mode that you can activate on the calibration screen.

My light guns don't work on my flat-screen CRT. Well, they kind of work but with no accuracy whatsoever. They're useless.

They have to be SD-TV's you have an HD-CRT so yes the lightguns will be useless regardless of if it's a flat or curved screen due to their construction.

The only officially made HD-CRT compatible lightgun is the Guncon 2, and only on select Guncon 2 games that support both 480p and 100hz.

Remember, he hasn't said if it's a flat-screen CRT or a flat-panel LCD, Plasma etc..., as there is a huge difference between the two technologies. A lightgun will work on a flat-screen CRT if it's standard def., but will not work on an LCD or plasma at all.

Guncon 2's however will work on HD-CRT's and are the only official lightgun available for any system to do so. It has an optional 100hz and progressive scan mode in most of it's games that can be activated of you have both the PlayStation AV Adaptor and component cables for your PS2.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the help.I've been looking into getting a smallish TV for my bedroom, but also wanted to get me some lightgun games that'll work with it.

I'm looking for a decent, yet cheap TV that's around 22'. I've been browsing around and have found a few that look good, but do you guys have any suggestions?

Goodwill, CraigsList, the Want Ads and Pawn Shops are your best bet to get a great high quality name brand Sony, JVC, Samsung etc... CRT for dirt cheap.

Well, that would explain that. It's probably the one negative of HD-CRTs other than their huge weight and size.

Yeah, but at least you could play Time Crisis and other PS2 lightgun games on it if you've got a Guncon 2 and the AV Adaptor + component cables.
