Anyone else play it? The expansion just came out and I've picked the game back up again. Fun as hell and new levels and characters plus more music.
Also lets have general discussion about as well I guess.

Re: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody
The game is apart of the touhou series(Somewhat more popular in the shmup world). It is a 2D fighter with a heavy influence on various projectile attacks. It runs on windows (allthough it can run on linux with Wine).

Here is a video showing the gameplay from the demo when it was released a while back.
Now with the expansion out there are 20 different characters all of which with their own unique play style and move set. The controls are solid and the mechanics behind the game, albeit a bit different than most games, are easy to grasp. Combos are easy to pull of and devastating finishing moves can be activated with the press of a button. Mod_Man_Extreme spent some time with the game the other day and can probably voice a newcomers opinion on it.
If you guys want more info just PM me or just post again. It is a badass game once you get used to how it works, which only takes about 5 minutes. (Oh and its mostly in japanese, but menus are in english and I think character names are in english, plus a full translation should be on the way.)

Im not a big fan, pre patch it was a bit to glitchy for me. I havent played it since launch though so Ill give it another shot soon. Ive either gotta be in the mood for a fighter, or have others to play it with.

Yeah I've noticed some of the glitches and they are annoying, but the recent patch fixes them I believe.fast wrote:Im not a big fan, pre patch it was a bit to glitchy for me. Re: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody
Would love to see this as a XLA game ... reminds me of some of those JPN Saturn fighters, like Asuka 120% and Gal Fighters ...

It does have a heavy Asuka vibe going through it.

Re: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody
I liked it from what I played at Cirno's house, the card specials and are pretty cool and the controls are simple. I'd need more time with it but it is a pretty decent fighter for when you want to just go all crazy.
