I thought EMS was supposed to be the fast shipping from jp

Post by milkmanv1 »

Alright, heres a kinda question-ish topic.

I bought a Wonderswan color, and final fantasy one from ebay, he shipped it out and whatnot, been tracking it, pretty good progress..then it stops. All of a sudden nothing. Then it's updated (about 2 days ago) saying it arrived in the US on the 10th.....why is it that it still isn't here, and it's been in the US for a week already?!?! I pay 13$ for shipping and I seem to be waiting as long as if it were SAL economy mail.

Also I bought some black and white wonderswans from Yoshimitsu (he uses risingstuff forums and gametz forums) they were here from japan in about 4 days. I'm pretty sure he used standard mail.

So why is this such a unpleasant experience? I didnt think it would 2 weeks (which it's just about been) when they claim 3-5 days.

Probably held up in customs. I had a superfamicom game do the same thing, usually shows up about a week after you say "where the hell is my package?!". USPS has one of the worst tracking systems i've ever seen. Pretty bad when UPS has a better system than our own f***ing government.

I've always had good luck with shipping from japan my stuff always arrives in very good shape well packed sometimes very quickly and never longer than I'm told. Love japanese people and their postal system. I hate to deal with any other countries though-UK is ok I guess.

Customs.

EMS is fast, customs are comically slow.

I hope you eventually get your stuff....customs is known to hold harmless objects for months.

Well I usually get my items in good condition, so thats not what I'm worried about, I just want my copy of FF1!!! ( I already have a swan crystal, the color system was just for shits and giggles) I was never too fond of FF2 which I have now, i've beaten FF1 dozens of times and I wanna play through this version.

On another note I just bought 2 cheap and loose wonderswan colors (orange which i reaaaaally wanted, and clear black which I wanted) wonder how long it'll take for them to get here.

Every time I order from Playasia it comes in about 2 or 3 weeks when I use EMS shipping. Recently I ordered arcade buttons from Lizardlick and It actually took just as long and their located in America, I thought they forgot about it. I did get it at the end of the month,it seems like mail is taking longer to ship.

One time I ordered some thing EMS from Japan. I was tracking it the first few days from the link the seller gave me. Then the tracking info stopped updating, it would just say the same thing every day. So a little over a month goes by, and nothing still, so I emailed the seller. Turns out, that (Japan) website stopped tracking it after it left, and the American tracking website would pickup there. The package was sitting in my local Post Office waiting for me to come and pick it up, and I had no idea. Lucky, I guess, I got it just a day or two before it would have been shipped back to the seller.

Got it today, I'm not happy though, theres some damage/wear/aging on the screen, there is a light spot surrounded by a dark spot in the middle of the screen. *sigh*
