Saturn Model 2 Mod Trouble: No Video

Post by RaiderzRule »

So I modded a model 2, 32 pin saturn. When I powered up the saturn the disc started spinning but all there was on the tv was a black screen. So I took out the mod and placed the ribbon back into its original connection and when i powered up the saturn the back screen showed up again. Any suggestion to fix this issue would be much appreciated.

Please can someone give a few suggestions to what might be causing this issue. Everything seems to be working except I get a black screen everytime i powered up the saturn. I tried 2 different tv's and cables and nothing worked so it has to be the saturn.

Did you try jiggling the A/V cord on the back of the Saturn? Look in the A/V plug, see if there's any bent pins.

When you took the mod chip out, was there anything left over? Did any solder get ANY where inside the Saturn? There might be a bridged connection some where. Did you solder the signal wire to the leg of the chip or did you do the AB method?

Did you get the ribbon cable plugged all the way back in with no accidental bending that could have broken a trace?

Is the ribbon cable in the right way (shouldn't be twisted)?
