philadelphia video game art show

Post by nickfil »

So, for people not in the know, the first friday of the month is a time that a lot of cities have artists sell their wares on the streets, and galleries have openings. The local comic shop actually has this giant space up in the front of it that they use as kind of a lounge or gallery space. They have a lot of cool nerdy stuff come through.

This past first friday they had a guy mixing snes/nes/genesis tracks with a couple of modded nes advantage controllers plugged into a synth. Pretty cool.

I snapped some pictures of the art for all you rackets to see. If you guys are in philly, you should check it out and maybe buy your first graphic novel if you arn't into comics yet. Tell rob or brian that i sent you. Its a great store, and good show to check out. The shop is called brave new worlds. It is just north of market street (away from the big buildings), on second.

Wow, that looks really interesting. Do they have a gallery of all the art on the webpage?

Not that i know of. Unfortunately, comic store websites are updated mostly promoting the cool events they do, not actual pictures of the cool events. I do know that rob hires an art collective who do the show monthly, and THEY might have a website. I don't know it offhand, but let me ask and get back to you guys.

I wish that Duck Hunt one had an orange zapper laying in the weeds instead of a rifle.

Edit: oh wait, that's a log. My bad. There should still be an orange zapper though.
