This is fantastic. One of the finest concentrated selections of 360's userbase. Skip to the audioclip section at 4:35 for the real meat.
And people wonder why I still haven't bought a 360.

wow, geez, these people are something else.
I have played my pc quite a bit online, and haven't run into this type of craziness yet.
Do you think this is really an "xbox" thing?

I love that one, but I have never understood the jab at UT2K4. The entire UT series is known for having a practically mute community. In pub games, no one is ever talking, whether its voice or text. Its actually very depressing.dlmvii wrote:I think this is a "person" thing.

Too many dicks on Xbox Live. There are a lot of real gamers who use the machine, yes, but there are too many dicky kids on it as well. Not that kids are all dicky, I am one. But I know that at my high school, Xbox 360 and Halo and Call of Duty are the most played games. Not among the actual gamer circles of our school, but among the... well, those kids.
Yeah Gabe's theory sums that one up pretty well. I think I'll stick with my LAN gaming, thank you.

Wow. Some people should probably just die. I am so incredibly tired of hearing people call others "faggots" and "fags." I honestly believe that is going to be the "nigger" of tomorrow. Our grandchildren will look back with disgust and disbelief at how casually we used the term and how we spurned a group who are (no matter you spin it) our fellow people and equals. It makes me embarrassed and ashamed.

Ahhhh the beauty of owning a 360 without xbox live. This is the reason why I refuse to get it. I go on it at my friends and I simply just can't take it. I still stand behind my decision.

I think the biggest difference between the PC and the 360 is that on the PC it takes a small amount of time to get your mic setup and working properly. And that's assuming you're using an in-game chat, not Ventrilo. On the 360 it's just plug and play. So it's easier for everyone to just start spouting off random shit whenever they want.
Hell, look at the PSN. The PS3 supports a bluetooth headset like you probably have for your phone, but that's a bit more effort to setup than the 360 headset. In all my time playing SF4 and BB I have never heard anyone actually talk. A few times in the lobby I'll hear a crinkle on the headset, like they just wanted to indicate that if I had one we could chat, but never had anyone start randomly spouting off obscenities.

Well on the G4WL side, I wish people would disable their mics if they wont use them, because many of them place the headset by their speakers, and I get to hear a distorted echo of all the game noises for the entire session.MrPopo wrote:I think the biggest difference between the PC and the 360 is that on the PC it takes a small amount of time to get your mic setup and working properly. I hate xbox live so much. I just cannot be bothered to renew by live subscription. I've considered it a few times but I just think, what's the point. There's nobody I want to play with apart from you guys who've added me on the forum and a few other IRL friends.
I hate playing online games where nobody talks, especially L4D or other games where team comms is key to victory. It seems it's always one extreme to the other. Either nobody talks and nothing gets done and I'm the only one talking or it's full of dicks who just want to shout insults at each other or worse, a bunch of kids.
Live is like the worst scenario. 90% of games some douchebag kid is 'making you his bitch' by constantly swearing and just being a dick in general. Just because you beat him at whatever you're playing.
It seems that live is filled with oppressed kids who get bullied too much at school so they vent at random strangers on Live because they can get away with it.
