Angry Video Game Nerd

Post by Budsmoka »

OMG this dude is pure pwn. Everything from the awesome theme song to the crappy retro games to the cleaver profanity. James really makes the irate gamer look like a tool. Anyone other fans out there?

All the ballers is bouncin they like the way I be leanin
All the rappers be hatin, off the track that I'm makin

Yes, I've been following him for awhile. I've yet to see someone else actually pull off the anger thing with it being funny. Despite the intentionally ridiculous language he actually makes hilarious observations.

He's the reason why there's 1000 ten year old "retro gamers" who have no idea what they're doing, they just copy him. There's way too many of these clones. I watched a few but I didn't care for em. And his console reviews are lackluster. He finds the shittest games he can for the system he reviews and bashes it based on that. The cussing was funny at first now it's old and stale. Don't care for him. I do like the Nostalgia Critic though.

The old one was better. But that's to be expected.

Harsh. Really though, the point of his videos isn't to professionally review these games or systems, it's just to be entertaining. Definitely agree about the clone issue, but I'm not sure that's his fault so much as theirs. I also acknowledge what you're saying about his console reviews, which aren't necessarily fair (Sega CD).

Also, I too am a fan of the Nostalgia Critic, but as often as comparisons are drawn, they hav much different execution methods for their hypercritical senses of humor.

It gets old after a while, but sometimes he'll say something that'll knock me down with funny. I enjoy them all the time, and he's the reason I own a 32X.

That's...not new. Like it says very clearly from the first frame of video.

Some of stuff is hit or miss with me.
To his credit, he has a lot of copycats following him.

But I'll still take Yahtzee over him any day

I still watch AVGN every time he puts something out, but he does seem to have lost some of his charm.
