Re: PS3 slim
1. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I think it's a bunch of baloney. So I don't think it's true.
2. If it does come out, I think it will boost sales, ranging anywhere from a little bit if it is just a cosmetic upgrade to hugely if it comes with a price drop, internal improvements and several great games launch with it, such as God of War 3.

Yeah, this would be a great excuse for me to finally get a PS3. The only problem is that it doesn't seem like Sony to execute things like this, why so secretive? I have doubts, but also hope that I'm wrong.
Re: PS3 slim
It seems to good to be true but it would be awesome.
Re: PS3 slim
I think it would be at least funny if Sony put a slim model in the market now. Their marketing's been all centered around that "We have the more expensive machine, but we provide you value" bullshit. If they cut features for the slim version (like they have in the PS2), wouldn't that be a vindication of the 360?

Yeah it makes me think that price cuts are whats more likely to be announced on the 18th.
Re: PS3 slim
not a big fan of the supposed slim version. If they cut the price, which I think is certain with a slim model, than it will sell, even if they cut features.

wanted: Cd-I, Neo Geo AES

All I need is RCA out puts, a decent size hard drive,2 usb ports and an Ethernet port.
Re: PS3 slim
Just give me one with PS2 compatibility at a decent price.
I'm tempted to just buy an old one and upgrade the hard drive.

there are rumors floating around they are bringing it back...via software emulation
as far as the slim goes, i don't care either way i already have a ps3...I plan on buying another one for my wife...but if it were to be a slim I would want something better than the cheap looking plastic of these pictures that are floating around on the net
