Going up to Athens, GA

Post by Ack »

Hey fellas, the girlfriend and I are going to be going on a trip to Athens, GA, with a stop off in Atlanta to see Fastbilly and check out the Play N Trades. I know at least one of you lives in Athens, and a bunch of you are in Atlanta, so are there any other stores worth checking out? I don't think we'll be seeing them this trip, but maybe in the future.

And also, what do their SNES stocks look like right now gentlemen? Should I expect some quality titles, or am I going to have to consider the benefits of owning Cliffhanger versus a second copy of Shaq Fu?

Sad thing is, I'd buy Cliffhanger just to laugh at that crappy game...

Howdy,

I lived in Athens for a while up until last May. Can't think of any good gaming stores off the top of my head. (There was a place on Milledge by the UGA basketball Arena I never checked out). While in Athens, hit up Barbaritos, Best Burrito I ever had!

These are all the retro video game store I go to other than playntrade

Ccgaming www.ccgamingonline.com 2 locations
2750 Jiles Rd- Kennesaw Ga 30144 & 10895 Alpharetta HWY Roswell ga 30076
lots of snes but very hard to search through all in bags on hooks 10 deep in no order.

Gamespot 5340 Hwy 20 South Suite 205 Covington, GA. 30016
medium selection of snes prices are a mixed bag

Media Mania 5035A North Henry Blvd Stockbridge, Ga 30281
Good selection of snes but if its a rpg or made by nintendo it will be over priced

Gamers Trade www.gamers-trade.com 3450 Cobb Pkwy #140 Acworth, GA 30101
Same as above but a little bit less snes games

I heard the playntrade at 1880 Epps Bridge Parkway Suite 110 , , Athens, Georgia, 30606 had a lot of retro games let me know if its wroth going to.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

The Play N Trade on Epps is the way to go. Unfortunately their stock of boxed SNES games are down. I was able to get Contra 3 though. I traded my copy of cliffhanger there hahah. They have some Sega CD games too. None of their names come to mind though. There is supposed to be some really good Play n Trade in Woodstock or something around Atlanta. The buford one is mostly new games.

ps barbaritos is shit. If you want good stuff go to Taco stand or aqua linda.

the play n trade in woodstock has a pretty good stock of retro games all around but the quality of the games is shit for the most part. And from what ive seen, the staff didnt really know what they were talking about :( Ive been meaning to check out a few of the other aformentioned stores as there are a few very near to my dorm room.

Damn, I disappear for three days, and some of you practically set the website on fire.

Anyway, we hit up a Hastings in Auburn, AL, two Play N Trades in Atlanta, GA, as well as a Goodwill, and then visited another Play N Trade in Athens, GA. Here's just a few highlights of the trip:

6 SNES games
2 Nintendo 64 games
8 Genesis games
1 PlayStation game
1 PC game
2 PS2 games
1 3DO, model FZ-10
2 3DO games

We also picked up another PlayStation game while visiting Vejita's mom. Fun times, huh? I'd list individual titles, but I can't remember all of the titles off the top of my head, though one of the PS2 titles was Yakuza. I finally picked it up!

Because the Greeks didn't settle America, the British and French did.
